Water Marble Nails-Day 20 of “31 Day Nail Challenge”

20 Jan

Water marble nails is a fast favorite! I have my setup and system down and the hardest part is deciding on the colors you’d like to use. This look makes me think of abstract tranquil blossoms. Please, don’t ask me who. It just does 🙂

A total of 3 colors were used: “I Vant To Be A Lone Star” by OPI, “Grey Area” by Sally Hansen and “Snow me White” by Sinful Colors.

Have you tried this technique? Is it too busy? Thumbs up or thumbs down?

Galaxy Nails-Day 19 of “31 Day Nail Challenge”

19 Jan

Moons…Galaxies… all this nail polish has me seeing stars, literally. This is a playful manicure that I’m still learning. The sponging is fun and with a little more patience this could have been out of this world. But it’s fun and I had fun doing it. Let me know what YOU would like to see.

Half-Moon Nails-Day 18 of “31 Day Nail Challenge”

19 Jan

Half-moon nails anyone?  I’ve seen this look in so many combinations that it was hard to decide.

This manicure showcases the beauty of a Sephora by OPI exclusive called “Dark Room”. It’s a dark green that almost looks black. I wanted a matte finished so I stroked some Essie’s “Matte About You” over the top. I used a Kiss nail art pin to quickly draw the half-moon shape. I went over this small section with dark room and left it in its normal shiny state. The look was completed by adding small dots of glitter from China Glaze’s “Some Like it Haute”.

Glitter Nails-Day 17 of “31 Day Nail Challenge”

17 Jan

What lacquer lover doesn’t drool over glitter? I couldn’t answer that because it’s not my story. I LOVE GLITTER! It brings out the glam in my hands. Adults and kids alike can enjoy a little glitter and bling. Dare to Dream, Bling and Shine! Live-Laugh-Love 🙂

Today’s nails are done with China Glaze’s “Some Like it Haute”. That sounds a little grown up but I’m ok with the name and the color. It’s beautiful. The 3-D effect gives serious shimmer to this glitter. Be SURE to use a good base coat AND top coat. This color tends to chip without protection.

Delicate Nails-Day 15 of 31 Day Nail Challenge

15 Jan

Delicate nails are a continuation of yesterday’s feminine and chic flowers. It’s Day 15 and I’m really enjoying this challenge. Polishing my nails is relaxing. It’s like arts and crafts for the fingers!

I used Sally Hansen’s Insta-Dri in “Petal Pusher”. It’s a soft pink/peach color. You need about 3 coats but it dries fast! I finished this mani with Bundlemonster stamp #BM20 in Sally Hansen’s Xtreme Wear in “Grey Area”. It has both grey and brown tones and offers beautiful versatility. I hope you like this delicate look!!!

Flower Nails-Day 14 of 31 Day Nail Challenge

14 Jan

Flowers and nails sounds feminine and chic. It’s Day 14 and my goal was a simple manicure. After my wild tiger nails, it felt relaxing to pick something simple.

I used Essie’s “Bangle Jangle”. It’s a creamy lilac that applies beautifully. To fulfill the “flower” part of the challenge, I chose nail art stickers made by Kiss. I was tempted to stamp since it’s so much fun. But, the stickers are a cinch to apply and the complimented the color very well!

31 Day Nail Challenge Day 12- Stripes

12 Jan

It’s time for stripes! I took the lazy route and painted OVER my polka dot nails. Yes, I truly use my polish down to the last DROP! I used the same base color from yesterday, “Uptempo Plum” by Sally Hansen. I didn’t go with my first stripes idea but it was too late to turn back once I got started. So, I pulled out the Konad M60 stamp once more and added a plaid stamp in white. It’s my “fun” version of a bar code. I added a “clearance” stripe (for my inner shopper) using a Kiss nail art pen in pink. The pens are quickly becoming a staple product in my nail collection. Just be SURE to use top coat over the pens. Finished with Northern Lights “Holographic” top coat.
